4 months!

We went to the doctors yesterday and little Miss Isla is plugging along nicely. She is 26.5inches and 13.7 lbs. That turns out to be 95% on height and 50% on weight, no offense to any Watters but she is apparently getting the Gibson height. He was a little bit surprised at how much she is drooling. She soaked right through the paper sheet and saturated her hair. He also kept saying what a "little cutie" she is. Of course she laid the charm on pretty thick. She had one of her little giggle fits for the nurse and then smiled and blew raspberries through the exam with the doctor. Today my sister asked me if I asked the doctor about her apparent Smileitis. She is such a happy baby we are soooo lucky!
We had a great weekend visiting Grandma and Grandpa Watters in Vermont. The weather was awesome so we took a few walks, saw a bunch of friends and just relaxed. We also celebrated Thanksmas (I stole this term from someone I work with). We had Thanksgiving dinner and Isla had her first Christmas celebration. She (and we) got some great gifts from Grandma and Grandpa. I have to say my favorite gift is her first Middlebury t-shirt. Hopefully that is just a sign of what is to come...better start saving now!

Isla giggling

We have heard little giggles here and there but we caught her first little fit on my camera this afternoon. She is getting so big and turning into such a little person. We are starting to think that we may have a little drama queen on her hands. I have no idea who she got that from. She has this high pitched squeal she does when she is displeased, which is pretty funny, yet VERY dramatic.
I can't believe she is almost 3 months. Where did the time go? I went back to work this week. I cried for about an hour before I went and the entire car ride. I was okay once I got there but it's so hard to leave that cute little face.
Anyway, hope you enjoy her sweet little giggle as much as we do!

Sleep Strike!

Our little lady is on quite the sleep strike today! So while sitting here with Dave trying to rock her, we realized that we really haven't done anything with our blog. No more perfect time for an update than with a screaming baby in your ear. "Row row row your boat" isn't working... anyway, on with the progress report...

Isla is now 9 weeks old. Just had a doctor's appointment. She's 11 lbs 2 oz and 23 1/2" long. According to the doctor she is progressing normally, but let's be honest here, we feel she is above average. She smiles and follows our voices, loves to look at herself in the mirror, and holds her head up like a champ! We are amazed at how quickly she is growing up.

She's here!!

Our beautiful new Isla is here! It was a nice long process to get her here but she is now with us safe and sound. We just had our first pediatrician appointment and she passed with flying colors! She is at her birth weight (which isn't surprising being she is eating round the clock). This whole new world is definitely an adjustment but an amazing one. She has only been with us a week and we can't imagine our life without her. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure...

So it's Thursday 7/30 and Colleen and I are at the hospital. Induction began last night around 9PM. Things are moving along, slowly. Colleen is feeling good, pain free thanks to the epidural, but the anticipation is getting to both of us. Who knew that this could be such a long drawn out affair? Anyway, we are both so excited to be here and have the process underway. Soon we will a family of three... more when the little one arrives...

Ultra Sound

So we had an ultra sound the other day which showed that everything is a-okay and we are plugging along nicely. I am 35 weeks so we are in the final hours (thankfully). We got a cute pic, at least we think it's pretty cute. You can see her little chubby cheeks and the Gibson pointy chin. She has a little bow mouth and I can't wait to give her a million little kisses on it! This picture will have to do until I get the real thing!

5 weeks to go!

Getting really excited. Working on the upstairs. I'm starting to worry that it won't be ready (Colleen's been saying that since I started the project). She's making me type that "she's always right"! Whether or not the upstairs is completed in time, we are ready for our little one to arrive. Colleen is nesting like crazy, albeit in the living room. Ultrasound tomorrow, can't wait to see the little bugger again.

More later....
