MORE FOOD PLEASE!

So in an effort to get Isla ready for the introduction of food we have been putting her in her high chair a little bit every day to get her used to the whole idea. Today when she was sitting in her chair, she seemed really comfortable and was staring at Dave eat his lunch. We figured it might be a good time to start introducing food. The whole process is so gradual so we figured it couldn't hurt. So we bibbed her up and gave her a spoonful and as expected she spit it out. The next few bites she ate a little bit more each time until she was leaning over the high chair by the end reaching for the spoon. We caught it on video (we need the cord to transfer to the computer so that will come later), but we also got a few pics. We also shot some of her five month pictures today. We are a little late on that but she'll never know the difference!
ENJOY!

Christmas!

What an awesome Christmas we had this year. We were so lucky to have our two nieces here to celebrate Isla's first Christmas. My sister, Evan and Natalie were here for the actual holiday and how fun was it to watch them together. They even got to visit Santa (I sadly missed that) but the picture is pretty funny, both clearly horrified by Santa. Natalie was so cute, constantly saying "hiiii" and "ba-by" to Isla. Natalie has grown up so much in the past year. She is such a big girl now. She got a stroller for Christmas and pushed that little thing around all day, even while talking on her fake phone. We miss Natty already.
Next up, we had the Watters gang come stay, Alex, Charlotte and Susannah. It was so much fun, it was Isla's first time meeting everyone. Susannah has obviously changed so much since we saw her last which was at our wedding over a year ago. She is awful cute, and quite bilingual. Everything was "si" and "aqua". Susannah also liked her little cousin, "ba-by" and even "ya-ya" (which is our nickname for her given to her by our friend's son who couldn't quite say Isla). Being that they live in San Francisco we don't get to see them too much so it was such a treat to have them here for a few days. Next time we need to make it out there!
On to New Years...my how things have changed. I luckily got canceled from work so Dave and I got to spend New Years Eve together (our "real" anniversary). We met four years ago at an 80's themed New Years Bash, we stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. This year, in bed by 9:30 out cold way before the ball dropped. But it was perfect, Chinese food and a movie, our new anniversary/New Years tradition. I couldn't ask for anything more (other than low fat Chinese food) than a night home with my baby and the best husband in the world! I am so lucky, I love my life so much. I can't wait to see what 2010 brings us! Happy New Year!
